For leaders and admins

Your pack website

Meeting and joining details, custom pages, branding, and your own domain.

Every pack on ScoutKeep gets a public website with your meeting details, how to join, your calendar, and your own pages. This guide is for website admins: leaders whose role includes Manage adults, roles, and access. The website appears only if your pack uses it.

Choose Manage Pack at the top of the portal, then Settings. The website pages are Overview, Meeting & joining, Domain, Branding, and Pages.

Preview and publish your website

Overview shows your Website address and whether the site is Published or a Draft.

  • Select Preview website to see the site as visitors will. Until you publish, only website admins can preview it.
  • Select Copy link to copy the address.
  • When your pages are ready, select Publish website. To take the site offline, select Unpublish website. Your saved pages stay put.

Add your meeting and joining details

Open Meeting & joining. Enter these details once, and every page that uses them stays current.

  • Meetings: how often you meet, the day and start time, a schedule note, and where you meet. The site shows the schedule as a sentence, such as "Every other Thursday," with map links.
  • Public contact: a contact email and an optional phone number. Every visitor can see them, so a shared pack address works best.
  • Joining: your online registration link (such as your BeAScout link), an invite link to your family community, and what joining costs and whom families pay.
  • Uniforms: your recommended shop, its address, and any uniform advice.
  • Other links: footer links, such as a Facebook group or your council's website. Select Add a link for each.

Select Save details when you're done.

Choose your colors and image

Open Branding.

  1. Enter a Site name and an optional Tagline.
  2. Pick your Primary, Secondary, Accent, Background, and Text colors.
  3. Under Website image, choose an illustration, Your photo, or No image. For a photo, select Choose a photo (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 5 MB), add a Photo description, and pick a Crop focus.
  4. Check the preview, then select Save branding.

Your logo is set in Unit details. See Unit settings and features.

Edit your pages

Open Pages. Your site starts with built-in pages, such as Home, About our pack, Calendar, and Join our pack. Pick one under Choose a page to edit it.

  • Edit a section's starting text and select Save draft, or select Use default content to start over. Program-managed sections can't be changed.
  • Under Your content on this page, add blocks near the top, such as an event promotion. Use Show from and Show until to show one only for a while.
  • Under Page title and visibility, change the Page title and Navigation label, set Visibility, and select Save page.

A Published page is on your site and in its menu. A Draft page shows only in Preview website. A Hidden page is off the site entirely, even in preview; its address shows a page-not-found message. Saved drafts of a page's content don't reach visitors until you publish.

Add your own pages

  1. On Pages, select Add a page.
  2. Enter a Page title.
  3. Under Show in the menu under, pick Top level of the menu or a parent page.
  4. Under Start from, choose a Blank page or a starter, such as New family guide, Uniforms, or Fundraiser.
  5. Select Create page.

Build the page from Text, Image, Button, and Details card blocks (a details card shows information from Meeting & joining). Select Save draft as you go. When it's ready, set Visibility to Published and save. Use Move up in the menu and Move down in the menu to reorder the menu, and Delete page to remove a page.

Use your own domain

Your website always keeps its ScoutKeep address. You can also connect a domain your pack owns, such as pack101.org.

  1. Open Domain.
  2. Under Custom domain, enter the Domain name only, without https:// or a path. ScoutKeep sets up the www version too.
  3. Select Save domain.
  4. Under Connect your DNS, ScoutKeep lists the records to add. Sign in where you manage your domain (usually where you bought it) and add each one. Use Copy to copy each value.
  5. Select Check again to see whether it has connected.

Keep your existing email (MX) and other records. Only add or change the listed ones; if a record with the same name and type exists, replace its value. DNS changes can take a few hours, and the status shows Waiting for DNS meanwhile. ScoutKeep checks automatically for a week and emails you when it connects, or if it still hasn't by then. Once connected, the status shows Connected and the site is secured with HTTPS.

To switch domains, enter the new one and select Save domain. To stop using one, select Remove followed by its name. For a connected domain, confirm with Replace domain or Disconnect domain. The old domain stops reaching your site; your ScoutKeep address keeps working.

Tip: Buying a new domain? Use an account your pack controls, and check the renewal price first.
